PROJECT PRIORITIES
Restored
The original school hall has stood since 1864 with two extensions during the 1900s, all of which was in desperate need of renovation. During the building project we’ve restored some of the original features to their former glory and reinstated some which had been lost. The building has been preserved for future generations in Rayleigh and beyond.
Sustainable
Remodelled
Flexible
The whole building has been remodelled with flexibility in mind, from the way spaces link together, to the way facilities have been positioned around the building. Each room has its own adjacent kitchen facilities and toilets, and the main hall can now be divided into smaller rooms as required.
Accessible
The new lift provides access between the three different levels of the building which had previously been a big challenge for those with mobility issues. There are now also additional toilets adjacent to all rooms, including accessible and ambulant facilities.
